Surprise, surprise, today’s blog features cake. Again. Yippee!
Today I had the pleasure of sampling a delicious apple and cinnamon muffin from Mustard in Norwich.
Thankfully my boss is a rather generous chap and occasionally turns up at the office bearing gifts of the cakey variety. I know that these will turn out to be good days.
When it came out of the paper bag I couldn’t wait to try it: it had a rustic sort of charm – definitely home made and therefore an instant winner. The sponge was light and moist because of the apple, but was jam packed with nuts too – so I almost managed to convince myself it was healthy!
The top (which is my favourite part of any cake) was rich and slightly chewy, thanks to a sugar glaze – the perfect finish.
I have decided that I have to sample all of the other goodies that Mustard have on offer over the next few weeks!
