Now, before I start, I have to confess that I’ve always lived in the past. I love the fashions of bygone eras more than I do those of the present day – including the make-up and accessories.
I am particularly obsessed with fashions from the 1940s, 50s and 60s, from Katherine Hepburn’s hair to Grace Kelly’s gowns. That’s why I was a wee bit excited about going to my first Little Vintage Lover Fair last month.
I grabbed a friend and spent a whole afternoon mooching around Dragon Hall in Norwich, finding beautiful clothes and accessories. There were so many stalls, selling everything from clothes to jewellery and home ware, it was ridiculously tempting! Not just that, but there was tea (served in little china cups) and cake. My day was pretty much made!
You can definitely get a great bargain if you’re willing to have a rummage, or have the vision to reimagine a piece.
If you want to find great vintage clothing or beautiful retro home ware, the next Little Vintage Lover Fair will be held this Sunday (14th November) at Sussex Barns in Burnham Market, Norfolk (PE31 8JY).
