An evening of wonder at Norwich Theatre Royal

Before I begin, I just want to apologise for my lack of bloggage last week – I have come down with a disgusting cold, which I haven’t been able to shake off. I’m trying to get back to normality though, so here I am!

For most of last week, I was unable to control my excitement, because I had tickets to see Derren Brown at Norwich Theatre Royal. I’d booked it up way back in December because I didn’t want the show to sell out!

My seat in the Circle (Row C) was very good – I could see Mr Brown incredibly well, along with all of the action. I won’t give anything away, because I don’t want to spoil anything, but needless to say, he was as fascinating as ever – go and see the show!

The Theatre itself is also great though. I think I’ve only been there a handful of times since it was refurbished, so I forget that it’s much better laid out now. The entrance is wider and clearer, with the bars more spaced out, so you don’t end up fighting for space. Because of all that, it’s much lighter in the outer areas and less oppressive.

The auditorium has also improved – although there are more seats now, you actually have more leg room, because the seating is steeper. The lack of room was actually one of my pet hates before, so I’m very pleased with the changes!

The Theatre Royal has a packed programme this year, so take a look here.

Hi, I'm Lucy. I've lived in Norfolk since 2001 and in that time I've grown to love this fine county. From the city of Norwich, to the countryside villages and sweeping coastline, there's so much to explore and hope to share my experiences with you here.
