Sipping tea at Stephanie’s

Recently I’ve noticed that this blog has become less about fashion in Norwich and more about eating in Norwich. Although this might have slightly missed the initial point of my blog, I think it shows where my priorities lie (and why I’m now on a healthy eating drive).

I used to bank at the little thatched HSBC in Eaton, because it was so quaint and very local. When HSBC dediced to close the branch last year I was so enraged that I actually changed banks – regardless of the fact that I never actually used the Eaton branch because it only opened while I was at work. But anyway…

In the last month the little thatched building reopened as Stephanie’s coffee bar, and because it’s local I thought I’d better try it.

It’s very small and only has a few tables tables, but it’s very warm and cozy. It still has the wood panelling around the walls, which is complemented by bold green wallpaper and leather chairs.

Because I am trying to be healthy I managed to not have delicious-looking cake (I died a little bit on the inside) and just had a pot of tea. Served with a cup and saucer and a wee jug of milk, it was lovely – you know when you taste the most delicious cup of tea? That was it.

And to make matters even better, it wasn’t expensive and they do a loyalty card. I think I will be spending many a Saturday morning there in future!

Lucy

Hi, I'm Lucy. I've lived in Norfolk since 2001 and in that time I've grown to love this fine county. From the city of Norwich, to the countryside villages and sweeping coastline, there's so much to explore and hope to share my experiences with you here.
