Headspace at Dotties

Dotties tea room

Have you ever found somewhere that just leaves you feeling calm? That you can escape to for five minutes of peace and quiet, away from the rest of the world?

Well, this week/month/year has been a bit manic so far, and I’ve been in desperate need of some headspace during the day.

Thankfully, around the beginning of February, I discovered Dotties on Tombland in Norwich – and saved my own sanity.

While it might sound like I’m being a tad dramatic (and I am), stopping to have a strong cup of tea and read a book during my lunch break has stopped me from going out of my tiny little mind.

It’s always lovely and quiet in there – and my phone has no signal – so I’m not disturbed by people talking, the phone ringing or checking social media.

It’s also a lifesaver when there’s an occasion looming (hello Mothers Day!) because it’s filled with knick-knacks, shabby chic gifts and greetings cards. And while I’ve not eaten in there yet because I’m on a health kick, the food always looks and smells amazing and I really must try it soon.

For £1 for a midweek cup of tea and sanity, I can’t recommend it highly enough.

Right, time for me to meditate, methinks…

Hi, I'm Lucy. I've lived in Norfolk since 2001 and in that time I've grown to love this fine county. From the city of Norwich, to the countryside villages and sweeping coastline, there's so much to explore and hope to share my experiences with you here.
