I love going out for a walk (as you might have noted in my previous blog about Whitlingham Broad). The fresh air and greenery really make me feel healthier.
That’s why on Sunday, after a meal at Zak’s, we went for a walk at Mousehold Heath in Norwich. Considering the woods are just outside of the city centre, it’s remarkably quiet in amongst the trees. It’s worth taking a moment to listen to the birdsong – so relaxing and peaceful.
Because the area was once used for the extraction of gravel, there are lots of hills to negotiate (and work off that burger and curly fries). It’s a great way to work out! Not only that, but there are several free car parks around there too, so it’s cheap too!
It’s also entertaining to tell my four year old cousin that there are bears in the woods – although instead of being scared, she just thought it was funny. Seriously though, according to Wikipedia, there are all sorts of wildlife in there, including deer and foxes (although I’ve never seen them).
If the weather’s good this weekend, I would recommend heading up there (and even if it’s not, take a pair of wellies and enjoy the great outdoors).
