Now, I know this blog is meant to be about all that’s great in Norfolk – and on the whole it is – but I really need to vent.
The pot holes and road surfaces around Norfolk and Norwich are starting to wind me up and my poor little car can’t take any more. There is a HUGE pot hole near my house, and I’m getting scared that my car will get stuck in it. I only have a teeny Toyota Yaris and it’s not made for almost off-road conditions!
And the so-called “speed tables” on Bluebell Road, near the UEA are getting dangerous. The speed tables are just some tiles that have been (badly) stuck onto the road, and have started coming away, so half the tiles have been ripped off. And there’s absolutely no need for them – they just seem to be there to ruin tyres.
And then there’s the road running through Mousehold – the tarmac’s almost all gone. It’s like driving on stubble. I know it would be a nightmare to shut the road, but if that’s what it takes…
I’d like to ask what the hell on earth I’m paying Road Tax for, when the funds are never used to actually improve the roads?!
