If the summer ever returns to Norfolk, I can thoroughly recommend whiling away a couple of hours at Whitlingham Country Park.
It’s just a five minute drive from Norwich city centre and is a great place to unwind and enjoy some peace and quiet. Spend an hour or so wandering around the broad, enjoying the fresh air along the way.
There’s lots of wildlife to enjoy too – I was possibly a bit overexcited by the sight of a snake swimming in the broad recently (I was brought up in London, ok? We didn’t have snakes). You can also feed the ducks, which is always great fun.
If you feel overwhelmed by the physical exertion, stop off for tea and cake at cafecafe, Whitlingham’s tourist-information-office-cum-tea-shop. Their chocolate brownie is scrumptious – perfect for replacing all of the calories you’ve just burned!
Alternatively you could take a picnic and make the most of the good weather, sitting on the green outside.
